We created this site to bring you important information about how Michael Lerner/GEM Healthcare manages its four Illinois nursing homes.

You will see that the Illinois Department of Public Health has issued 77 violations of patient care and fire safety at GEM facilities, most for cases where potential or actual harm to the residents of these nursing homes. Access the report here.
Federal Government Slams Lerner/GEM’s Treatment of Their Healthcare Workers
Chaos, Not Care Seems to be Lerner’s Priority
The past two weeks have seen the National Labor relations Board (NLRB) issue strong rebukes to Lerner/GEM over the way they treat their nursing employees. In September 29th decision, the government found that Lerner/GEM unlawfully fired Certified Nurse Assistants in the Central Illinois Streator facility, Camelot Terrace. Then on October 6th, Lerner’s Oak Lawn’s Regal Health and Rehab, (a South Suburban nursing home just outside of Chicago)was found guilty of unlawfully firing Licensed Practical Nurses, and harassing caregivers for exercising their rights to have SEIU Healthcare Illinois representation.
Certified Nurse Assistants provide the majority of direct care to nursing home residents, followed by Licensed Practical Nurses . Michael Lerner and his administrators seem far more interest in creating chaos instead of care inside his facilities.

Union Launches Public Awareness Radio Ads
SEIU Healthcare has launched information ads on radio stations in Streator and the Quad cities area to inform the public of Lerner/GEM shortcomings in nursing home care. The ads highlight findings in reports issued by the Illinois department of Public Health.
All five stations contacted in the Quad cities area are running the announcements, but four of five Streator stations refused. Listen to the ad the Streator stations are hiding from you here.
